The Hôtel Mont-Blanc in Megève, ideally located in the heart of the village, has a new immaculate décor filled with furniture from the 1950s and 60s. Between well-established Alpine tradition and modern renovation, the Sibuet group opens the doors of this establishment steeped in history.
The name Megève invites dreaming; it evokes a unique art of living in the French Alps. A wonderful blend of authenticity, luxury and wellbeing. Located in the heart of the village and its characteristic buzz, close to every amenity after a good day of winter sports, it is in this idyllic setting that the Hôtel Mont-Blanc has had a makeover and been reborn. For this new décor, where white has settled in naturally, the Sibuet family and François Dumas have skilfully combined the pure, singular lines of the 1950s and 60s with the existing world of old wood. A wonderful blend of softness and elegance that resonates perfectly with the hotel's name. Furniture by Guillerme et Chambron, period light fittings with sixties lines and a very fine collection of Vallauris ceramics are among the artists' pieces selected for the lobby. Seats will be in high demand for the afternoon tea so popular with the village's aesthete clientele, and also at Le George's champagne bar, where you can enjoy the finest vintages from Perrier-Jouët, Ruinart and Taittinger. And to accompany these prestigious bottles, the oyster bar is back with a selection of oysters and seafood unique in Megève. This year, a menu of indulgent nibbles straight from L'Épicerie des Fermes can be enjoyed at any time of day in the hotel lounges: smoked salmon heart, homemade foie gras and truffled Brillat-Savarin are among the snacks to savour.
Le Relais restaurant offers tasty, chic and modern cuisine in a 1950s-inspired setting. It stands as the happy memory of "happy few" rendezvous where writers, artists and celebrities meet discreetly… or not…
As for accommodation, the hotel has 38 luxurious, generous and warm rooms and suites. The traditional décor of the Haute-Savoie Alps does much to make the stay unforgettable. Some rooms have a balcony or terrace with stunning views of the village square and its famous bell tower. The icing on the cake of happiness and wellbeing: the Mont-Blanc boasts a Pure Altitude spa, harnessing the protective, soothing benefits of mountain plants, flowers and minerals.
