Skiing Business Class
What would you say to treating your employees to a break focused on team building in an authentic village defined by fun activities and relaxation? This is exactly the experience offered by the seminars at the Hotel Mont-Blanc. After spending time in Megève last January, a team from French bank Société Générale talked about their stay.
"There’s only one word for it: Magical!"
When Yoann Couve de Murville, Sales Director at Société Générale, decided to organize a seminar for his managerial and consultant teams, Megève was an obvious choice. "I had spent time at the Mont-Blanc as a child with my parents, and the hotel immediately came to mind when I was thinking about organizing a seminar. I wanted to introduce my teams to Megève. It’s such an authentic village offering a huge range of activities." Many of the participants had ever been to Megève, and some had never even tried their hand at winter sports! It’s easy to imagine what a pleasure it was to discover this alpine resort, especially as the weather was so good! "We had such amazing conditions; it snowed for several days before we arrived, and it was sunny for the entirety of our stay! It was magical!"
Activities and new experiences
After a two-hour stroll to discover the heart of the small village, the shopping streets, the main square and the church under a beautiful blue sky, the group enjoyed a number of sporting activities. "The advantage of somewhere like Megève is that it has something for everyone, whether they are winter sports enthusiasts or not," says Yoann Couve de Murville. The whole team was able to enjoy a sport of dog-sledding, "which they really loved," as well as a hike in snow-shoes "through an untouched landscape" and, of course, skiing! "We split up into several groups based on ability, and we explored the superb Megève ski area in magical conditions accompanied by an instructor."
Gastronomy and hospitality
After a day packed with activities, there’s nothing more comforting than an excellent dinner. In an effort to keep everyone happy, the team reserved a table at the restaurant at the legendary Mont-Blanc hotel. "The atmosphere at the restaurant Les Enfants Terribles went over very well," says the Sales Director. "It was both festive and intimate, and everyone had a wonderful time. It was a beautiful experience to share together."
As for the meetings, (because they did have to work a little in between activities!), the art de vivre championed by Maisons et Hôtels Sibuet label came through once again. The conference room has a capacity of more than 15 people, and is designed to foster concentration and teamwork with overhead projectors, Wi-Fi, notepads and a vast selection of pastries and fruit juices for everyone. And that’s without forgetting the beautiful view over the hotel’s interior courtyard, which is blanketed with snow during the winter!
Having completely succumbed to the charms of the village of Megève, the participants were quick to comment on the "services worthy of a premium luxury hotel, while also remaining very personal," says Yoann Couve de Murville. The employees were unanimous in their feedback, praising "all of the services, the meals, the setting and the activities…" The extra details all combine to create the elegance and authenticity of Megève in general, and the Mont-Blanc hotel in particular. "The aim of the seminar was to create a real bond between the participants," says the banker. "The team spirit was palpable after four days. Even more than I expected! We’ll be back in Megève as soon as possible!"
